As a lucky happenstance, an unsuccessful printing project led to a great idea for Inclosed Letterpress: Charmlets. These small gifts allow customers to pick five charms, a Charmpad, and a beautiful notecard to send to their friends. The Charmlet team hand writes the messages and sends them off as a surprise gift for the unsuspecting recipient. As a fairly new branch of Inclosed Letterpress’s business, the Inclosed team approached us to help with branding, packaging, and an ecommerce website.
Inclosed Letterpress Co.
Charmlet: Friendship in a Box
We created an icon and wordmark for the Charmlet brand as well as a wordmark for Charmpad, the notepads that come with the Charmlet package. We also had a lot of fun developing a cheerful color palette with eight colors and a playful pattern composed of charms for a texture element. The packaging design brought together many of these brand elements. The bright color palette was utilized in the typography as well as the notecard and pen, and the pattern was used in the box seal and printed on the box interior.
The website clearly and colorfully directs a user to select and purchase one or more Charmlets for friends and family. During the branding, we established a bright photography direction that is interspersed on the site with color blocks, icons following the style of the charms themselves, and the charm texture pattern. To add a bit of excitement and delight to the website, we animated the Charmlet icon into a confetti bomb. The ecommerce portion of the site is a custom-built, easy-to-use, build-your-product experience that cleverly displays the user’s selections at checkout.
