Apiary is a private social club offering its members a sense of community along with entertainment and networking opportunities. As they began plans for bringing this unique concept to the newly developed Hartwood Preserve neighborhood in Omaha, the Apiary team reached out looking for help creating their brand and website.
Playing off the name Apiary, which is a collection of beehives, we created a brand mark consisting of a bee symbol plus a wordmark. For the bee, we worked at balancing realism with friendliness providing a recognizable image without becoming so anatomically correct that you’d want to squish it. We also worked in an “A” in the negative space of the bee. For the wordmark portion we chose to include “Social Club” so as not to confuse the club with a business in the bee or honey industry.
