AI Code of Conduct

At Grain & Mortar, we value both human creativity and technology and innovation, including Artificial Intelligence. However, we recognize that AI can very easily be used to replace human creativity and the beauty of our craft. We don’t want a future where prompting usurps creating. But we also recognize AI for the amazing tool it can be. It helps us become more efficient in many ways, allows us to mine through large amounts of information like never before, and performs tedious tasks for us that we’ve always wished we could assign to a bot. We don’t know what the future holds or how AI will shape that future. It’s changing rapidly. For right now, we’ve decided we will put some boundaries around our use of AI tools.

We’re humans using technology to create, not the other way around. We’d like to keep it that way. We must safeguard the meaningful, creative work we do.

So here’s our promise: We won’t take our hands off the wheel. We pledge not to use AI to replace our creativity but to augment it.
